Curry crab and dumplings, walking barefoot and watching howler monkeys were a few of the things Mrs. Day gave up when she left the sandy shores of Trinidad and Tobago .

Mrs. Day was born and raised in the Caribbean, but she now calls the quaint town of Lacey, Washington just outside of Seattle home.

Writing wasn't always her passion, a job at Microsoft Corporation plucked her out of Washington, D.C, where she finished her Master's Degree at Howard University.

Biography

An ice axe, bivy sack and a well broken in pair of boots are absolute necessities and happen to be some of Mr. Day’s favorite things.

Growing up, Mr. Day spent his free time hiking in the Cascade Mountains and exploring the lime quarries on San Juan Island in Washington State.

As a 20-year veteran of Search and Rescue, Mr. Day is most at home in the Washington Wildness, which inspires his writing of children's books and he enjoys bringing the outdoors, indoors to children everywhere.

With a deep love of children, Mr. & Mrs. Day have spent many years caring for medically fragile and drug-impacted babies, as foster parents. As a result, their books directly reflect the love and memories they share with their children and childhood experiences growing up in the Caribbean and San Juan Islands, Washington State.

Illustrations

Mrs. Day is a self-taught Illustrator and Painter, her artwork is cheerful, bright and has a Neo-Pop flare that children to relish. Using gouache and acrylic paint to create whimsical illustrations that captivate the imagination of children is a delight.
